Silhouette Cameo

Today I was visiting one of my favorite daily blog reads, Better After.  This is actually the very first blog I visited a couple of years ago.  I sat and read the whole thing because I loved it so much.  Lindsey has a way with words that totally resonates with me, and really, who doesn't love before and after pictures.

Well today's post is for a Giveaway that Lindsey is doing on her blog for a Silhouette Cameo.  This device is so stinking amazing, that I am completely drooling right now.  It is a die cut machine that cuts paper, vinyl, fabric and more.  I love to make cards and gifts, and if you do to, this is the machine to have. (I so want one!!!)

If you would like to find out more about the Silhouette Cameo, please visit their site.  They have many great tools for crafters.  If you would like a chance to win one of your very own, visit Better After Cameo Giveaway and follow the instructions for entering.  Winner will be announced Jan. 3rd.

Good luck to everyone, and have a great day.

Everything's Coming Up Dahlia's

(And you thought I was going to say Daisy's.  Silly.)

While surfing Pinterest again (yes I know, I'm addicted) I saw these beautiful Dahlia's.  I followed the link to Vively Online Blog, and she has instructions on how to make the dahlia's.  (So making one after Xmas!!)

I love these.  She used an old book.  But just think of the possibilities..... tea stained pages, colored paper, magazine pages.  Oh the list can go on and on.

Here is how Vively displayed them.

And just in case you were wondering, Peonies and Dahlia's are my favorite flowers.  (Hence the love for this project.)

Keep on the lookout for my version.  I hope mine turns out as lovely as Vively's.

Have a great day!

Room and Board - No Lack of Character Here

It's amazing to me what a little wood and paint can do to a room.

I saw this picture on Pinterest, and followed to it's source:  The transformation is amazing.  But don't take my word for it, take a look for yourself.

Please go take a look at the whole project.  Cassity and Justin list step by step instructions for anyone to do this project themselves..  I know if I get some spare time in the future, I'm going to do this project.  Great job guys.

Have a great day.

Hide Everything - Amazing

Ok you have got to see this.  Kyle Bunting's Hide Rugs.  They are so beautiful, my eyes can't take it anymore.  Below are just some of the pictures of rugs, wall coverings (yes, you read me right) and furniture & art Kyle has brilliantly created using hides.  Seriously, brace yourself!

Hall Runner

Area Rug

Wall Coverings

Wall Art

I mean look at the attention to detail.  Extraordinary!

Please take a moment to visit Kyle's website (see Inspirations - Idea Books) and blog (Raves & Kyle Bunting).  I haven't even shown you a blip of all that he has created.  There are 35 Idea Books, & tons more pictures on his blog.  (If you could see me now, you would see my mouth on the floor, because what Kyle creates with hides is the most beautiful works of art I have seen in awhile.

Thank you Kyle for the amazing eye candy.

Please let me hear your thoughts on Kyle's work.

Have a great day!

Did I do that????

I mentioned that I would post Christmas Decorations, and I haven't done so yet.  With the holidays quickly approaching, and me deciding to make Xmas presents, lets just say it has been a bustling household.

Anyway, without further ado, here are my Xmas Decorations.  This year I decided to go simple and non-tradional.

Sorry for the delay.  Hope you enjoy them.  Please let me know what you think.

Have a great day!

PS Santa if you are reading this, I would love a new camera.  And maybe some lesson on how to use it.  I am not the best photographer.  (As you can see.)

Friday Favorites - Design*Sponge

Ok.  So I am sure many of you out there already know about Design*Sponge blog.  If you don't, this is a blog not to miss.

Design*Sponge current look

Design*Sponge earlier look

Grace Bonney started her blog back in 2004 as an outlet for her passion.  Design.  And wow look where she is today.  (Click here to see what I mean.)

Grace Bonney

But what I am here to write about in my Friday Favorites is about her book called, you guessed it, Design*Sponge at home

I recently got this book, and am not even half way through, and I am so in love.  (Mostly Grace stole my heart by, direct and indirect, mentions of my home town Portland, OR.)  I love that it's broken down in the 3 parts.

1)  Sneak Peeks (Interiors of peoples homes)

2)  DIY (for those like me always looking for new and innovative creative projects to do yourself)

3)  Before & Afters (everyone's favorites)

If you get a chance to read this book, it is well worth every penny.  There is way too much to mention in this post about how wonderful this book is.  So check it out, and see why it is my favorite.

Have a great weekend.

PS Let me know your thoughts.

Out of Sorts

Last night, and today, were pretty rough days.  One of my little ones, Jake, had another 2 seizures back-to-back late last night.  (Yes I am referring to my dog.)  It's been just over a year since his last one, and we were so excited.  But last night dashed our hopes that they are under control.

Jake last xmas with his rope toy

He is doing ok, but we need to watch him closely for the next month.  Our biggest concern is how long he is staying in the seizures.  Last nights was 11 mins. for the 2 seizures, without a full recovery in between.  And another 3 to 4 mins. before full recovery.  It's pretty scary watching something like this happen to one of your babies.

Anyway, today we are taking it easy, and getting some extra rest in.  Jake's brother, Elwood, is watching over him.  Literally.  He's the one laying on Jake's back below.  (And yes, I named my boys after The Blues Brothers.  Jake Blues - played by John Belushi and Elwood Blues - played by Dan Aykroyd.)

My sleeping beauties

So I apologize, but there will be no Xmas decor post today.  You'll have to wait till Monday.

Hope everyone has a great day!
